PARISIAN AFFAIRS: CITY GUIDE – THE PARIS HACK

PARISIAN AFFAIRS: CITY GUIDE – THE PARIS HACK

Parisian affairs. So just after leaving Geneva, which I did not find as up beat as I had expected. Although why had I expected New York craziness in Geneva? I digress…. after Geneva, Paris happened. I will do a short post of my journey from Geneva to Paris soon. I am itching to talk about the city of lights and love. So when in Paris, what to do? We had little time to explore this beautiful city and so for…

TRAVEL DECOR: DIANI

TRAVEL DECOR: DIANI

“Then you will travel, and the decor will move you” -Itch, 2017. Everytime I travel. I marvel at the architecture, interior design and decor of my destination. I will take snaps at a cute building or chair or table before.  The natural surroundings and people and culture move me but not as much as the furniture and the ambiance. So in Diani, our villa had amazing furniture. Read about our trip . I am not into rustic furniture  but this…

DOWN IN DIANI:TAKE 2 PICTORIAL

ZANZIBAR DIARIES : PART 1

ZANZIBAR DIARIES : PART 1

Zanzibar stole my heart! It’s very picturesque, perfect and inarguably the most beautiful place in the world. What with the blend of the old world, a bit of modernity and a hint of nautical pleasure along the beaches. This is a trip I would make over and over and over again. The trip to Zanzibar was terrific. It took 2 hours from JKIA Nairobi to Dar Es Salam by air and an extra 2 hours to Zanzibar by the Kilimanjaro…

VITAMIN SEA: DOWN IN DIANI

VITAMIN SEA: DOWN IN DIANI

I got backpacking to go watch my friend get married and see what the Coast had for me. It was a long bus ride, longest ride I have done in ages so next time I am on that plane like a pilot! Everything was surreal from the…

CAMPING FOR NEWBIES

CAMPING FOR NEWBIES

Alpaca Tent. Will y’a? Meme credits:Google images. Camping is not for the faint hearted. I recently went camping. PS: I am not an outdoor person but somehow I made it through the night. There is something surreal about sleeping in a tent especially when a few hippos are lurking a couple of meters across an electric fence. My search for adventure led me to a tented camp site just outside Nairobi. Have I mentioned I am now hooked on this,…

ZANZIBAR DIARIES : FOODIE ALERT

ZANZIBAR DIARIES : FOODIE ALERT

Zanzibar has amazing food. People forget everything else but the food will stay with them. As we were loitering around Stonetown we bumped into Forodhani. An open space that overlooks the ocean and has tonnes of street food. I thought Zanzibar’s staple dish would be Pilau…Nay! There were several food vendors with a lot of bitings to sample from. This vendor’s “Happiness Table” had grilled lobster, shrimp, crab, octopus, chicken and then tikkas of the same. Served with chapatti and naans….
